My dressform sculptures were featured in a student art show. The first piece was 'Revealed' and the second piece is shown through the link below. I don't have any real photos of them yet, but I will. These dressforms are the first two in a series I plan to do.

Creating is good.

My heart is broken and now should be the time that I create masterpieces.

But I don't know how to do anything anymore. I'm broken all the way through.

I entered two of my sculptures into a student art show and recieved 2nd and 3rd place.
2nd place went to my found-object anteater.
3rd went to my transformational bowl dealing with anxiety and depression.

I love pastels. I have a couple non-representational pastel works that I would love to post at DA. Unfortunetaly, my scanner does not work with this computer. So I have to wait until we get a new computer to do it. The same goes for editing my pictures (as best I can; ie: not really at all).

But I still love pastels! So I'll continue with the non-representational pastel works.

Another note: my church is asking for artists to design Christmas cards to show "what Christmas really means". So that means they'll want something to do with the birth of Christ. I have two hands lifting a baby with a crown laying on its side, and in the background above it there is a hillside with the three wise men of camels and the leader is pointing to the huge star in the sky. It also has the four candles of advents on the bottom. The problem is, I looked at a picture from the internet (google search) for the three wise men, and just copied it from vision. I also looked at a baby and used it's general body shape. I feel TERRIBLE about this, and I don't want to turn it in with the three wise men and baby having been taken from something I saw online. It's like stealing and lying about my work.

Does it sound like it to you? I can work on changing those two things if I need to, although it'll be really difficult, I'll do it if it sounds like I'm stealing the other peoples' work. Tell me!

I haven't colored any of it, it's just a pencil drawing so far. I can't decide what media to use.

Also: my local newspaper is holding a photography contest with the theme: Between the Fences. I would love to enter it (even with my poor quality camera, lack of editing skills, zero knowledge on lighting, etc), but I really don't know what to do. It's not due until January something, so I have time. I hope I recieve inspiration.

Blah.
